Is it okay to use pound cake for making petit fours?

If you are using a jelly roll pan, I'd recommend a nice spongecake recipe. Make two layers of it and spread a nice jam in between before cutting and frosting them. Frost the little layer cakes with buttercream, then pour on poured fondant for a classic touch.
